DETAILS:  Please consider donating an hour or day of your time to our Dicken Community!  We have received substantially fewer Time & Talent (green) surveys back this year.  While Dicken is lucky to offer many different programs to enrich our students’ learning, they can only continue if you volunteer!  Opportunities range from simple, like helping set up for Field day, to HUGE, like volunteering as the WESO -Science Olympiad- chairperson.  Without volunteers, many of our programs such as R.O.A.R, Super Science Day, E.G.G.S. and Shop with Scrips, are presently at risk of cancellation.  For opportunities, please contact Maggi Kennel ( or click on this link PTO Volunteer Opportunities!

WHAT:  Hungry Howie’s Dicken Community Night In
WHEN:  Monday, October 31st, 4 – 10 pm.
DETAILS: Hungry Howie’s will generously donate 10% of all pizza orders from Dicken families for the entire evening!  Save your appetite and order plenty of pizzas for take-out on Halloween Night! Get together with neighbors and throw a pre-Trick or Treating party! Just mention that you are a Dicken family when you place the order and 10% of the sale will come right back to the school.  HUGE thanks to Kevin Lawson, owner of Hungry Howie’s, for this wonderful fundraising opportunity!
WHAT:  Plum Market Educational Scrip Program Yearly Renewal 
DETAILS:  Plum Market will contribute 3% of total purchases back to Dicken if our families re-enroll every year in their program.  Families need to re-assign their Plum Market Rewards cards EVERY YEAR at Guest Relations, or by emailing (please include the Plum Market Rewards card number and Organization). WHAT: Busch’s Cash for Education
DETAILS: Busch’s grocery stores generously donates up to 5% of your grocery bill to Dicken Elementary as long as you have a Dicken Cash for Education card that is tied to your Busch’s My Way account.  To sign up, follow steps below:
1. Download the attached Family Introduction letter.
2. Fill out request form for Cash for Education card & turn into classroom teacher as soon as possible.
3. Once you receive your card, go online to and register for a MyWay account and link your Cash for Education card to that account.

WHAT:  Submit an advertisement or coupon for your business to be published in our own Dicken Student Directory!
WHEN:  By the end of the school day on Wednesday, October 19th.  
WHERE:  Dicken Elementary School
DETAILS:  We are offering Dicken families the option to advertise their businesses in our yearly student directory.  This is a unique opportunity to spread the good word about your businesses and also raise funds for our PTO.  
Pricing as follows:  business card size ad/coupon = $25; ¼ page advertisement/coupon = $45; ½ page advertisement/coupon = $60; full-page advertisement/coupon = $100.

WHAT: Box Tops for Education and Campbell’s Labels for Education.
WHEN: All Box Tops and Labels are due to teachers by Friday, October 21st.
DETAILS: The class with the most wins a prize!  Be sure to check all food boxes, soup cans, and magazines for Box Tops and Labels before recycling.  Each Box Top is worth 10 cents and can be found on many of the products you already buy.  Look for the hot pink Box Top coupon on participating products.  Last school year we earned a total of $1,790.56!  GREAT JOB!!!  Our school goal for the first submission is $1,298.00.  To learn more about Box Tops for Education and/or to register go on-line to .  Questions – contact Kerri Dixon at or Maggi Kennel at
