Notes from Mr. Madison
* NWEA testing ends this week. Thank you to the entire student body for participating; our students’ results look very promising! This week, staff will learn how to analyze and use the assessment results for classroom instruction. Parents will be receiving results in the near future.
* Thank you to all students and family members who attended the Dicken Family Picnic Thursday evening. It was the largest Family Picnic yet, with over 150 families present! We are truly building a positive and supportive community at Dicken Elementary School. Special thanks to Mandi Wise and committee for a job well done!
* The district has moved Count Day to Wednesday, October 5th. Please help Dicken Elementary by making sure your child attends school Wednesday, October 5th!
* Once NWEA testing is completed, and before we start MEAP, we will hold two fire drills. These drills help prepare our students in the event of a real fire emergency. Expect your child to come home with news of these practices.
The wristbands honoring Mariel Allmendras will be handed out to each student Monday morning, following an announcement from Ms. Cieglo (students may choose to wear the wristbands, but will not be required to do so). We hope to take a photo of students, with their wristbands, to show Mariel and her family how much we all care and are thinking about them. Thank you to the PTO for purchasing the wristbands!

Letters were mailed home last week with information about your student’s PowerSchool account. Please visit https://pschool.aaps.k12.mi.us/ and use the Parent/ Guardian Username and Password to access the account and update your e-mail address(es) and phone number(s). This information will be used by AAPS to notify you in the event of a school closing, emergency, or with other important information. It is also the system we use to send you the PTO Blasts.
